Ben graduated from Liverpool University in 2012 and began his equine veterinary career in Australia that summer with an 18-month internship in equine surgery. Subsequently, Ben has been working in sole equine practice in Gloucestershire, and obtained his certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in equine lameness and therapeutics in 2021.
Ben gained valuable experience working with elite event horses as one of the vets supporting Equestrian Australia from 2014–2017, including running a fitness monitoring project in the run-up to the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Ben has been involved with British Equestrian's World Class Programme since 2017, primarily assisting with the eventers to provide veterinary support at international competitions and Nations Cup events. He has also been involved with the para dressage squad during this time.
