Lynn became an International Para Classifier in 1999 and has since been a central figure for British Equestrian’s para classification system.
She was awarded the prestigious British Equestrian Medal of Honour in November 2022, recognising her immeasurable contribution to para equestrian sport and her support of the development of the para equestrian classification system in the federation and internationally for the FEI. Her extensive efforts have benefited all those who are part of the sport today.
In addition to her work within para classification, Lynn worked within the Riding for the Disabled Association for over 30 years as a member of the dressage committee, as well as a leading representative on the FEI National Classification Panel and the Compensating Aids Working Groups.
“Lynn’s passion for para classification and equestrian sport was evident from the work which she has done for us.” Lynn Bailey, Head of Integrity and HR at British Equestrian commented. “Her energy, commitment and selfless attitude resulted in many athletes both nationally and internationally being able to enjoy para equestrian competition in a way that would not be possible without people like Lynn to support them.”
British Equestrian, along with all those who worked with Lynn, offer their deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed but remembered for the legacy of her work and the many people she has helped within the sport.
