Piggy March and Vanir Kamira hold Burghley lead after cross-country

With the scene set after two highly competitive days of dressage, today would be a chance to see how some of the world’s elite horse and rider combinations would fare over new designer Derek di Grazia’s debut cross-country track. Back after a three-year Covid-enforced break, the course at Burghley retained a number of iconic features, including the Leaf Pit, the Trout Hatchery, the Maltings and the Lion Bridge, but with new twists thanks to the creative mind of the American designer who’s also responsible for Kentucky CCI5* and was last year’s Olympic Games.
